Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United.
Neither side have started particularly well although Newcastle have managed to get more points on the board with W2-D1-L0, with Wolves returning W0-D1-L2. Wolves last home game ended in a 6-2 thrashing by Chelsea. Newcastle were outplayed by Spurs although they did find a way to win despite conceding 20 shots. I have Newcastle down in 12th for xPTS despite them sitting fifth in the league standings. Wolves are 18th and 15th for xPTS. This game could be much more even than the league standings suggest.
Matheus Cunha is a player that is often fouled. Last season he was fouled 50 times in 29 starts being fouled at least once in 26 of these starts, although in one he only managed 19 mins.
He has started two of the three games for Wolves this season yet in all three games he has been fouled at least twice and a total of 10 times in 191 minutes of Football, which is a foul every 19 minutes that he is on the pitch.
He played in the corresponding fixture last season in a game that ended 2-2 and Cunha was foul twice in this game
Newcastle have made 39 fouls across their three games this season, which equates to 13 fouls per 90 minutes. No player in the Premier League this season has made more fouls than Joelinton for Newcastle this season and with Cunha dropping deep into that number 10 role we could see these two players clashing and Cunha being fouled. It is also worth noting that Dan Burn who could potentially play centre back for Newcastle, also has a high number of fouls committed so far this season.
Best Bet: Cunha to win 2+ fouls at 2.10 with Skybet.
Brighton vs Ipswich
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna spent a lot of the summer talking about the important of set pieces. “We’re going to have to have it as a source of goals, for sure. We’re going to get fewer set pieces, we’re going to get fewer corners, fewer set pieces in the final third, so we have to optimise them as well as we possibly can against teams who are going to be even better organised.
“It’s a big challenge and if we can still contribute goals from set plays in different ways, it will be big for us”.
In the opening three games we have seen most the set pieces aimed at centre back Jacob Greaves and he had managed to have three shots and two shots on target. Ipswich struggled at Man City as most teams do, but they scored early on to take the lead and then had a disastrous 10 minute spell when they conceded three and never really recovered. Greaves managed two shots at goal against Liverpool and then one against Fulham.
At Hull the set pieces were aimed at him. He registered 28 shots in 43 games, a shot just every other game.
Jacob Greave one or more shots at 2.5 with Betfair.
